2005 SEC Championship

Once again the University of Georgia Bulldogs face the Louisiana State University Tigers in the annual battle of East vs. West Divisions of the Southeastern Conference. LSU is hoping to repeat the 2003 victory over UGA that paved the way for their upset win over Oklahoma and the national championship. The Bulldogs, of course, are looking to avenge that loss with an upset of their own.

The highly competitive SEC was organized in 1933. It consists of 12 member universities, with stellar athletic histories and traditions as well as a huge fan base. If you win the SEC Championship, you could well go on to become the national champion - that has happened four times in the 14 short years that the conference playoff has existed in its current form. Those teams were the Alabama Crimson Tide in 1992, the Florida Gators in 1996, the Tennessee Volunteers in 1998, and the LSU Tigers in 2003.
