2006 NCAA Southwest Regionals

As the competition heats up and the field narrows to the Sweet 16, then the Elite 8, the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament happens in four places at once. The 2006 Midwest Regionals take place in Minneapolis at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, with the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, playing host. This year's winner of the NCAA Men's Midwest Regional level will take on the winner of the East Regionals at the Final Four in Indianapolis at the RCA Dome.

The 2006 Midwest Regionals saw the Florida overcoming Villanova 75-62 to move on to a Final four victory over George Mason University 73-58. The finals were a contest between Florida and the UCLA Bruins; their 73-57 win gave the Gators their first ever National Championship in Men's Basketball.
