Congratulations to all the participants in the 2006 Independence Bowl, and especially to the Oklahoma State Cowboys for their dramatic 34-31 victory with less than 10 seconds to go in a seesaw battle with the Alabama Crimson Tide!
Why sit home shivering when you could escape winter with a trip to the Independence Bowl, or more properly, the PetroSun Independence Bowl, in sunny Shreveport, Louisiana? This post-season clash pits teams from the football-loving Southeastern Conference (SEC) and Big 12 Conference. In 2006, that's the Alabama Crimson Tide taking on the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
There’s a lot more fun to the PetroSun Independence Bowl than what happens on the Independence Stadium gridiron in Shreveport. In anticipation of the Thursday afternoon game, the picturesque Louisiana Boardwalk in nearby Bossier City is the site of both the PetroSun Independence Bowl Kids’ Day and Ladies’ Day on Tuesday. Be sure to be back there Wednesday for the Independence Bowl Pep Rally, featuring a battle of the bands – and the cheerleaders – of both schools. It goes without saying that fabulous food and rollicking music will be available: this is Louisiana after all.
Coast to Coast will be happy to help you find the Independence Bowl tickets you’re looking for, and we’re only a phone call or a few clicks away!
