2006 Liberty Bowl

Congratulations to all the participants in the close-fought 2006 Liberty Bowl, and especially to the Gamecocks of South Carolina for their 44-36 victory over the Houston Cougars!

The Houston Cougars and the South Carolina Gamecocks will compete in the 2006 Liberty Bowl. Houston hails from Conference USA, while South Carolina represents the Southeastern Conference. Get your Liberty Bowl tickets and be there Liberty Bowl Stadium to cheer on your Cougars or your Gamecocks!

Even before we knew which NCAA teams would go head-to-head at the 2006 Liberty Bowl, or more exactly, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, one very special participant has already been announced. Grammy Award winner LeAnn Rimes will make several appearances, starring at both the AutoZone Liberty Bowl President's Gala and at the Liberty Bowl halftime show. She will be honored during the festivities for her fundraising for children's hospitals and her numerous performances for American troops across the country and around the world.
