St. Louis Blues

2007 St. Louis Blues

New owner Dave Checketts made great strides to improve the St. Louis Blues this off-season, and bring the capacity crowds back to the Scottrade Center. And, the Blues got off to a fast start, building excitement in St. Louis. However, despite some great individual seasons – most notably Paul Kariya and Brad Boyes – the Bluenote finished the season with only 79 points, and in the cellar of the Central Division. Although the Blues have missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the past three seasons, there is still room for optimism in the Gateway City – rookies Patrik Berglund and T.J. Oshie figure to have an immediate impact. If the Blues can find scoring, they could make a real run at the playoffs next season.

The St. Louis Blues' performance in the 2006-07 season, placing 3rd in the Central Division, was a significant improvement over 2005-06, and changes made in the off season promise that the 2007-08 season will be one to remember. Replacing Radek Dvorak with Paul Kariya is a real step up, and if goalie coach Rick Wamsley can work his magic on Hannu Toivonen, the Blues just might make the playoffs. Don't miss your chance to say you were there when the Blues turned it all around - get your tickets to Scottrade Center and help the St. Louis Blues go all the way in 2007-2008!

The St. Louis Blues -- playing in downtown St. Louis, Missouri's Scottrade Center (formerly called the Savvis Center) -- are one of the most successful teams in the sporting world, having set a professional sports record by reaching the playoffs for the 24th consecutive year in 2002-2003. Organized in 1966, the Blues were an immediate success that season. Led by Hall of Fame coaching legend Scotty Bowman, the Blues reached the Stanley Cup Finals three consecutive times in their first three years. Nevertheless, the Blues are still shooting for their first NHL Championship.

Thanks to their successful run over the last quarter of a century the Blues have built some classic rivalries with the greatest teams in hockey. The Scottrade Center rocks, especially when rivals such as the Detroit Redwings or Chicago Blackhawks come to town.

St. Louis is one of the country's foremost sports cities, playing home to the St. Louis Cardinals (Busch Stadium), always one of the teams to beat when baseball season starts in March; the NFL's Rams (Edward Jones Dome) are already neck-deep in their trek to the Superbowl when the first puck is dropped for the Blues in October; St. Louis also has a devoted NCAA basketball following thanks to the St. Louis Billikens (who also play at the Scottrade Center) and the annual Missouri-Illinois basketball game. Coast To Coast has great tickets for all these sporting events as well as for exciting live concerts and theater!
