Even as we say “Congratulations” to the Detroit Red Wings, winners of the 2008 Stanley Cup, we want to say a big “Thank you” to the San Jose Sharks, winners of the Pacific Division, for the incredible season they had!
Led by the dazzling Joe Thornton, the clutch play of captain Patrick Marleau, and the key saves of goalie Evgeni Nabokov, the Sharks brought a division championship to the HP Pavilion “Shark Tank.” The Sharks are a streaky team, and have been deadly on the road, which has raised Bay-area hopes of a Stanley Cup. Sharks tickets are in high demand as the team builds on their 108-point regular season with a strong effort in the 2008 NHL playoffs.
The San Jose Sharks are back on the ice at the Shark Tank for the 2007-2008 NHL season. Hopes are high this season, after the Shark’s impressive performance last year finishing 2nd place in the notoriously tough Pacific Division. Adding the powerful Alexei Semenov and re-signing Joe Thorton and Craig Rivet strengthened the team, but will it be enough to take them all the way to the playoffs? See for yourself with tickets to HP Pavilion and cheer the San Jose Sharks all the way to the Stanley Cup!
Seeded #5 among the eight Western Conference hockey teams in the 2005-06 NHL Playoffs, the San Jose Sharks were continuing an impressive history of making it to the postseason playoffs. Established in 1991, the franchise had made it into the tournament eight previous times since 1994. The first round went well, as they eliminated the Nashville Predators four games to one. Their matchup with the Edmonton Oilers, however, was not so successful, so the Sharks are still looking for their first possession of the Stanley Cup.
An NHL team since 1991, the San Jose Sharks play their home games at the HP Pavilion, which is also home to special events as well as concerts. Previous players include: Mike Rathje, Marcus Ragnarsson, Jeff Friesen, and Jeff Odgers.
