Boston Bruins

2008 Boston Bruins

Even as we say “Congratulations” to the Carolina Hurricanes, who beat the Bruins 4 games to 3 to advance to the Conference Finals in the 2009 NHL Playoffs, we want to say a big “Thank you” to the Boston Bruins, who won the Northeast Division and finished the season with the best record in the Eastern Conference, for the outstanding season they had!

Probably the biggest question on most Boston Bruins’ fans’ minds is the health of Patrice Bergeron. When Philadelphia Flyers’ defensemen Randy Jones hit Bergeron from behind and knocked him unconscious, the resulting concussion kept Bergeron out for the remainder of the season (while Jones was slapped with a two-game suspension). The news is good though – Bergeron is back to training full time and hopes are high that he’ll be in top form for the beginning of the 2008-2009 season. Bergeron’s health may just be the difference between a lackluster season and a trip to the Stanley Cup. After all, the Bruins made it to the playoffs without him, so it’s a safe bet that with him, the Bruins will be real contenders this season. There’s no telling how it’ll all turn out, but one thing’s for sure – everyone’s going to want tickets to TD Banknorth Garden to see it all happen live. Get your Boston Bruins tickets now and help cheer your team on to a winning 2008-2009 season!

Founded before the 1924-25 season, the Bruins became just the second American team to win the Stanley Cup in the 1928-29 season on their way to establishing a legacy as one of the premier hockey teams in the history of the NHL. The Bruins have had some of the NHL's best players lace up the skates, including Hall of Famers Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, and Ray Bourque. In their long history, the Bruins have hoisted the Stanley Cup five times. They are now looking to bring the Cup back for the first time in over 30 years.

The Bruins play in the sports hotbed of Massachusetts's capital. The proximity of New York, Pittsburgh, New Jersey, Montreal, and Philadelphia, along with their long history, provides the Bruins with plenty of rivalries. Boston is known for its dedicated and knowledgeable fans.

Boston is one of the country's foremost sports cities. The Boston Red Sox (Fenway Park) are always one of the teams to beat when baseball season starts in March. The NFL's New England Patriots (Gillette Stadium) play in nearby Foxboro. Boston is also home to the Boston Celtics, one of the most storied teams in NBA history, who also share the fine facilities of TD Banknorth Garden.
