Even as we say “Congratulations” to the Carolina Hurricanes, who beat the Bruins 4 games to 3 to advance to the Conference Finals in the 2009 NHL Playoffs, we want to say a big “Thank you” to the Boston Bruins, who won the Northeast Division and finished the season with the best record in the Eastern Conference, for the outstanding season they had!

Probably the biggest question on most Boston Bruins’ fans’ minds is the health of Patrice Bergeron. When Philadelphia Flyers’ defensemen Randy Jones hit Bergeron from behind and knocked him unconscious, the resulting concussion kept Bergeron out for the remainder of the season (while Jones was slapped with a two-game suspension). The news is good though – Bergeron is back to training full time and hopes are high that he’ll be in top form for the beginning of the 2008-2009 season. Bergeron’s health may just be the difference between a lackluster season and a trip to the Stanley Cup. After all, the Bruins made it to the playoffs without him, so it’s a safe bet that with him, the Bruins will be real contenders this season.
