2009 Cotton Bowl

The first two teams to play were the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs and the Marquette Golden Avalanche. These two teams featured two of the best quarterbacks in the game and the pairing got the attention of many fans. Sammy Baugh for TCU brought down the house and the team beat Marquette. It was the fulfillment of Sanford's dream for his New Year's game to be such an exciting contest and for it to be held in Dallas.
