Montgomery Gentry

2016 Montgomery Gentry

Montgomery Gentry is a country music duo of small-town rebels with a talent for Southern Rock. They have been compared to the likes of Charlie Daniels and Lynyrd Skynyrd and have family ties to country star John Michael Montgomery. Montgomery Gentry's first album, Tattoos and Scars, reached the country Top Ten in 1999. Two top-twenty singles from Tattoos and Scars were 'Hillbilly Shoes' and 'Daddy Won't Sell the Farm.' They are on tour now, so don't wait any longer to get your Montgomery Gentry tickets.

Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry from Lexington, Kentucky make up the duo. They got their start playing with Montgomery's brother in a band called Early Tymz that later became Young Country. When the two, Eddie and Troy, broke off on their own they became Deuce and then Montgomery Gentry. They got a record deal with Columbia Records and started touring. Fans fell in love with their small-town charm, earnest lyrics and catchy melodies.

In 2000, the two were named the CMA's Duo of the Year. 'Lonely and Gone' and 'All Night Long,' a group effort with Charlie Daniels, brought Montgomery Gentry all the attention they needed to fuel their creative effort for their follow up LP, Carrying On. The hit off this album was 'She Couldn't Change Me,' which went to number two. They did just what they said they would and carried on to make three more albums-- My Town, You Do Your Thing and their greatest hits record, Something to Be Proud Of: The Best of 1999-2005.

Fans of Montgomery Gentry's music love to see them perform live, as this is where they got their start in Lexington. They are professional showmen with a flare for rowdy, raucous behavior. Get your Montgomery Gentry tickets here for the best seats. You will want to get close up to enjoy the subtle charm and good-natured antics of a Montgomery Gentry performance.
