Rob Thomas was the lead singer and songwriter of the band Matchbox Twenty. He won an award for influential songwriting for his work with the Matchbox Twenty from the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2004. He also appeared as a guest musician on the Santana album Supernatural, co-writing and singing the popular song 'Smooth.'

The song 'Smooth' won three Grammys, including one for Song of the Year. Matchbox songs like 'Bent,' 'Real World,' 'If You're Gone,' and 'Mad Season' went to the top of the charts and the band's album Push went platinum twelve times over. Rob turned that success into energy to start his solo career once the band took a break from recording and touring.

'Lonely No More' was the first release off Rob's first solo effort, Something to Be. The press has been raving about the 2005 album which features a more dance-pop style of music than Rob's earlier work. His live shows are amazing crowds.
