The Cheetah Girls

2008 The Cheetah Girls

The Cheetah Girls are a hip new girl band and television favorite comprising the talents of the four young women who starred in the 2003 movie of the same name. After Disney Channel original movies and many hit records The Cheetah Girls are back for an exciting live concert tour that promises lively and colorful musical entertainment for the whole family. Their sound is energetic and passionate while their lyrics and subject matter are often positive and mature, making them accessible for all pop music fans. Their unique combination of urban chic and innocent optimism gives them popularity among fans young and old alike, while their clean pop vocals and kicking dance make for irresistible fun. Take your family and friends to a great live show with The Cheetah Girls tickets from Coast to Coast.

The Cheetah Girls are Adrienne Bailon and Kiely Williams (formerly of the singing group 3LW), Sabrina Bryan and Raven-Symone (That’s So Raven, The Cosby Show). The four were assembled to star in the Disney film adaptation of The Cheetah Girls books by Deborah Gregory. The film plot involves the girls forming a band and heading to New York to find fame and fortune in the music business. The mix of teen melodrama and contemporary pop songs proved highly popular with young audiences, and the film was voted the #1 movie of them all by Disney Channel viewers two years after its release. The success of the movie and the popularity of songs such as “Cheetah Sisters” and “Girl Power” prompted the release of the album Cheetah-licious Christmas in late 2005. As The Cheetah Girls toured this record it became apparent that fans were eager for their particular brand of sassy pop attitude, and The Cheetah Girls band has been a successful enterprise ever since. The Cheetah Girls 2 is set for release on August 25th 2006.

Despite their harmonious performances both on film and on stage, there has been some turbulence within the group. Media hype about rumors that Raven-Symone and fellow That’s So Raven co-star Adrienne Bailon often picked fights and refused to work together, although now largely regarded as untrue, fuelled the flames of discussion as Disney originally released The Cheetah Girls group as a 3-piece, with Raven-Symone notably absent. In the run up to the release of The Cheetah Girls 2 the group announced that Raven-Symone would be appearing on stage with the group for The Party’s Just Begun Tour of late 2006 as well as being in the film and a part of music recordings. This is undoubtedly great news for fans looking for The Cheetah Girls tickets.

Despite the high status among Disney audiences of That’s So Raven and The Cheetah Girls movie, when the girls perform live together they stand out as a viable musical entity in themselves. Exuberant and enthusiastic to the last, they perform light hearted pop ballads with a soulful energy that will captivate fans of the films as well as their parents. As a multi-faceted pop culture franchise they are to be acknowledged and respected, as a fun and uplifting pop music act they are to be enjoyed and celebrated.
