Almost 30 years since the release of The Police’s first major studio recording, Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers are back on the road for one of the most exciting and most talked about reunion tours in rock music history. Bursting into the pop-mainstream with their vibrant blend of piercing ska rhythms and eclectic balladry during the golden punk days of 1977, The Police have remained an integral part of the modern pop landscape despite not selling tickets for a live show since 1986.
The Police first hit the beat when London English teacher Gordon Sumner and California prog-rocker Stewart Copeland joined forces with guitarist Henry Padovani and began performing in local venues. After an independent single release and a personnel change to include The Animals guitarist Andy Summers, The Police released Outlandos d’Amour (featuring an initially unpopular single called "Roxanne") in 1978. The well-crafted pop hits and interesting mix of upbeat reggae guitar sounds and ethereal, angst-ridden vocals offered by The Police were proven globally popular by the success of 1979’s Regatta de Blanc and resulting world-wide tours. After releasing 4 studio albums in 4 years on A&M, the members of The Police were each pursuing solo projects by the time the eponymous smash Syncronicity was released in 1983.

Despite the professional differences that have prevented The Police from touring together over recent years, the band remain widely recognized as important pop icons by music critics and fans worldwide, with Grammy and Brit award successes in the 1980s and later induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Appreciation for The Police’s stripped-down yet experimental music recently peaked at the 2007 Grammy Awards as voices calling for a Police reunion show were finally satisfied. The demand for a full-scale tour has proved effective and The Police are embarking on an expansive tour across the world. Don’t miss this historic musical event!
