Tool's music can be described as metal, progressive rock, artsy, death, thrash, post-punk and a little bohemian. There are a lot of ways to describe their meaty rich music yet none of them really capture the chaotic structure and dark lyricism of Tool's art. Seeing this band perform in a large venue and in front of a wall of speakers is the only way to go - and they’re currently on tour. If you can't physically feel it, then the Tool is not loud enough. Go ahead and check out our selection of Tool tickets, and don't forget your friends.
Most of us consider Tool to be alternative rock since we were hearing them on the radio at the time grunge was fading out of and angst was flowing into mainstream music culture. Even metalheads were listening and liking what they heard. Tool's first studio release, Undertow, was wildly successful with metal fans of every kind. Most were drawn to Tool's angry poetic lyrics and others to their undulating rhythms and waves of saturating guitars.
The members of Tool are Justin Chancellor, Danny Carey, Maynard James Keenan and Adam Jones. They typically take a few years in between albums as they did between Aenima, Lateralus and 10,000 Days. It is a rare treat to see Tool play live and those who saw them on the Lollapalooza circuit count themselves as lucky for seeing the band in their just-post-Opiate stage when they were young and raw. New fans get to see the more refined Tool, and neither can deny that Maynard has gotten better with age and his music has never lost its creative edge. Songs like 'Bottom,' 'Forty Six and Two,' 'Schism' and 'The Grudge' are all angst-ridden, somber and reflective examples of the music Tool has brought into the pop-dominated mainstream of modern music.
Don't miss a chance to see these artisans perform on this or any tour. Get your Tool tickets before they sell out. They have brought emotion and operatic screaming to the otherwise tougher-edged metal world of the '90s and '00s. Go and experience a Tool concert for yourself before they decide to throw in the touring towel for another three to five years.
