Travis Tritt has been one of the leading country singers since the 1990s. He has not been afraid to incorporate Southern rock and blues into his music, straying from the traditional country. Even his concerts have more of a rock concert feel than country. He refuses to wear the traditional hat, blue jeans, and cowboy boots of a conventional country singer. Nonetheless, he is widely accepted by his country music fans and colleagues.

Travis Tritt was born in Marietta, Georgia to a very musical family. At an extremely young age, he knew that he wanted to pursue a career in music. He taught himself how to play the guitar at the age of eight and started writing music when he was only fourteen. As a teenager, he sang in a gospel music choir and played guitar in country, bluegrass, and rock bands in Georgia. Despite his talent, Travis's father discouraged him from pursuing a career in music.
