The 2007 MLB season marked a slight improvement for the Nationals over 2006 – they went from last place in the NL East to second to last place with a win average of .451. Ironically, the latest team to represent our Nation’s capital began life as the first team to represent Canada. Originally the Montreal Expos when they were founded in 1969, the team proudly represented the history and tradition of baseball in Montreal - history that includes the first professional stop Jackie Robinson made on his way to breaking the color line in 1947.
