This annual 400 mile race is held at the Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware every year and is the biggest of the two massive annual Sprint Cup stock car races that call this iconic track home.

The AAA 400 is the second Sprint Cup event held at the track every year and is not only an important part of the Sprint Cup Series but is also part of the exciting ten cup “Chase for the Sprint Cup” series of events. The AAA 400 is the third race in the final ten of the season that pit the top twelve drivers of the season against each other in a final playoff set of races designed to help determine a winner of the Sprint Cup. In 1996 the infamous showdown between Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon that resulted in an array of crashes took place at the AAA 400. This race was also the first NASCAR sanctioned race to take place after the attacks of September 11 in 2001. This race garnered the attention of millions from around the country who tuned in to see the event.
