When the NBL (National Basketball League) entered a new era in 1949 when it became the National Basketball Association, many were not sure about the future of the league or of the many teams that were currently part of the professional basketball system. The Knicks surviving this era in basketball was just a small milestone in what is now a very complex and decorated history. Today, the Knicks are one of the oldest teams in the NBA and one of the only teams to still be in their original city. This history is also filled with two NBA Championships, four division titles and eight conference championships.
