Despite injuries to key players Paul Kariya, Jay McKee, Andy McDonald, Erik Johnson and Eric Brewer, the St. Louis Blues managed to end the 2008-09 season in the middle of the Central Division and secure a playoff berth. The 2009-10 season is starting off with a mostly healthy team (though Brewer is still healing), and the team added more depth by picking up defenseman Brendan Bell and forward Derek Armstrong. If the Blues were able to reach the playoffs last season without their key players, then a healthy squad can be expected to go deep into the playoffs at the very least. Tickets to Scottrade Center are already going fast, so if you want to watch the St. Louis Blues in action, score yours today!
The St. Louis Blues -- playing in downtown St. Louis, Missouri's Scottrade Center (formerly called the Savvis Center) -- are one of the most successful teams in the sporting world, having set a professional sports record by reaching the playoffs for the 24th consecutive year in 2002-2003. Organized in 1966, the Blues were an immediate success that season. Led by Hall of Fame coaching legend Scotty Bowman, the Blues reached the Stanley Cup Finals three consecutive times in their first three years. Nevertheless, the Blues are still shooting for their first NHL Championship.
