The Canucks were once again shut out of the NHL playoffs this year, finishing with 88 points – good only for 11th place in the Western Conference. Henrik Sedin had a solid year, and goalie Roberto Luongo showed great promise. However, a lot of the veteran leadership failed Vancouver down the stretch, which left Vancouver with a packed General Motors Place full of frustrated fans. We expect some big free agent movement into Vancouver to shore up the team and better position the Canucks for competitiveness in the Stanley Cup hunt.
The Vancouver Canucks did well in the 2006-07 season, winning the Northwest Division and making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs, but it wasn’t quite enough to take home the Stanley Cup. GM Dave Nonis is determined to change that in the 2007-08 season, and he’s brought in Ryan Shannon, Byron Ritchie and Brad Isbister to help Roberto Luongo take the team to the playoffs. Get your tickets to General Motors Place and catch the Vancouver Canucks in action in 2007-2008!
