For many years, the New York Islanders have been an integral part of the National Hockey League (NHL). As proud members of the Eastern Conference of the NHL; the New Jersey Devils have had a years in the league playing against some of the most competitive teams in the world of professional hockey. The New York Islands are also members of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference meaning they often stack up to some of the top teams in the entire National Hockey League. When they were first added to the league as an expansion team the city of New York welcomed in their new pro hockey team with open arms and were soon treated to the exciting, fast-paced style of play that the Islanders are still known for today.


Since arriving in the league the New York Islanders have gone on to win four different Stanley Cup Titles. They have also won six different Eastern Conference Championships since they have been an organization. With notable players highlighting their past rosters such as Bryan Trottier, Clark Gillies, Mike Bossy and Bob Nystrmo, it is easy to see why the Islanders are such a premier team in the organization today.
