The Anaheim Ducks had an exciting 2008-09 season, finishing in 2nd place in the Pacific Division and making it all the way to the Western Conference Semifinals before being knocked out by the Red Wings. Though their performance was impressive, anything less than a Stanley Cup win isn’t good enough for Coach Carlyle, and the team is determined to improve for the 2009-10 season. Part of the problem last season was a lack of depth, so GM Bob Murray brought in center Saku Koivu and winger Joffrey Lupul. The forward line is in better shape, but with the loss of defenseman Chris Pronger (sent to the Flyers along with forward Ryan Dingle in a trade that brought in Lupul, defenseman Luca Sbisa, two first round draft picks and a conditional third round draft pick), the blue line is weaker. Will the Ducks be as successful without Prongs? Find out for yourself with tickets to Honda Center to watch the Ducks on the ice!
