The members of the band were Frankie Valli (vocals), Bob Gaudio (keyboards), Tommy DeVito (lead guitar), and Nick Massi (bass). These men developed an original sound and wrote their own songs. This was a first in popular music at the time, and they sold over 170 million records because of it.
Songs like 'Sherry,' 'Big Girls Don't Cry,' 'Walk Like a Man,' and 'Rag Doll' were wildly popular and make this musical a memorable experience. The actors playing the four are Christian Hoff as DeVito, Daniel Reichard as Gaudio, J. Robert Spencer as Massi, and John Lloyd Young, making his Broadway debut as Frankie Valli. The script is by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, the musical is directed by Des McAnuff, and it is choreographed by Sergio Trujillo.
