Annie History
Leapin' lizards! The Broadway musical Annie is touring again. This timeless production has been revived many times and even adapted for the big screen. In 1977 the stage show won seven Tony Awards, and the 1982 film was nominated for two Oscars. The musical Annie is based on the Little Orphan Annie comic strip. It is about the adventures the fiery orphan has while trying to find a family that will take her in. She and the other orphans are terrorized on a daily basis by the mean and perpetually drunk Miss Hannigan. Annie gets chosen to spend a short time with the wealthy Oliver Warbucks, whom she charms with her charismatic personality.
