2008 Disney's High School Musical

You don’t have to be in high school to want tickets to High School Musical! You just have to be, or know, one of over 58 million viewers of the television show from the Disney Channel that has spawned the best selling CD of 2006! Since its debut on American and Canadian TV in January of 2006, High School Musical has spanned the globe, delighting audiences, particularly “tweens,” with dynamic young actors and a classic teen-romance plot set to captivating music and Emmy-Award winning choreography.

East High School’s basketball star/coach’s son Troy Bolton seems firmly planted in one world, when beautiful but shy brainiac Gabriella Montez moves in from another. Yet Troy and Gabriella discover a common bond in singing. The perfect way to share their connection would seem to be joining the cast of the drama club’s school musical, but at East High that is the turf of the arrogant and devious Sharpay Evans. As the star-crossed couple’s friends and even the adults involved try to coax them back into their expected roles, Sharpay and her dopey twin brother Ryan plot to ruin their audition opportunities.

Most of the original cast of High School Musical are on stage for the 40-city concert tour. Your family will get to see Vanessa Anne Hudgens as Gabriella and Ashley Tisdale as Sharpay, as well as Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman performing the roles and the songs they created as Ryan, Chad Danforth, and Taylor McKessie. The role of Troy is played by Drew Seeley, co-writer of “Get’cha Head in the Game,” since Zac Efron is committed to filming Hairspray. Award-winning director and choreographer Kenny Ortega, also famed for his work on the Cheetah Girls, is the driving force behind this tour.
