.38 Special History

The group .38 special; also often called just Thirty-Eight Special is a blues rock band that first came together back in 1974. After years of performing together the group reached remarkable commercial success with their breakthrough hit & Hold On Loosely in 1981. This song skyrocketed the group to fame and they quickly followed these hits up with number one hits like Caught Up in You and If I'd Been the One. From there, there was no turning back for the group 38 Special as they continued to release numerous chart topping hits that took the adult contemporary music world by storm. With their unique blues inspired sound and their meaningful lyrics .38 Special has been delighting fans of all ages for years with their one of a kind sound. In addition to performing numerous solo acts; the group has also done a number of big collaborations during their long and successful career which has helped bring their unmistakable sound to even more music fans.

With collaborations with singers like country star Tracde Adkins, and appearing along side bands like REO Speedwagon and Styk; there is no denying the big impact that .38 Special has had on the music world. The group has not only proved they have left a legacy on rock music today but even after nearly four decades of performing the group has also shown that they have no intentions of slowing down.

In 2007, .38 Special hit the road with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr. on their Rowdy and Friends Tour and performs in front of thousands of fans who were still up dancing and singing along to the group’s unique sound. The groups success on this tour proved that the music world had yet to get enough of .38 Special and spawned several other lie tours and special concert appearances. Those who want to see the band live and who are able to get tickets to .38 Special live performances will quickly discover that the group still has that hard rock blues sound that first brought them to fame and that they still hold a spot as one of the most exciting blues acts to see perform live.
