The American blues-rock band; Hot Tuna first formed under the supervision of bassist Jack Casady and guitarist Jorma Kaukonen. Originally designed to be a spin-off of Jefferson Airplane; when the band took a hiatus from touring in 1969; the groupwas designed to fill the time of members while the band was on leave. However, thanks to their innovative blues and rock influenced sound; Hot Tuna took off and quickly fonud success in their own right.Known for playing both acoustic and electric versions of their own original blues songs and doing coves of famed blues songs; the group quickly shot to success. After forming in 1969 the group recorded and toured for eight years before taking a hiatus from recording and then coming back together permanently again in 1986 to continue delivering their fans with exciting new musical selections.
