If you haven’t heard of M.I.A. then you’re behind the times – this British sensation has been hitting all the major festivals entertaining audiences with her unique brand of alternative/grime/hip-hop/raga/electro music and has created quite a buzz. And it’s not just the fans that are swooning – M.I.A.’s first album, 2005’s Arular was nominated for the Mercury Prize and her most recent effort, 2007’s Kala, was voted Mixmag’s “Album of the Month” for September.
