2006 New Orleans Bowl

Congratulations to all the participants in the 2006 New Orleans Bowl, and especially to the Trojans of Troy University, who won their first bowl game ever with a 41-17 victory over the Rice Owls.

The New Orleans Bowl (officially, the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl) has returned to its namesake city and will carry on its tradition of top-level college football. The 2006 New Orleans Bowl will feature Rice University, representing Conference USA and out to continue the winning trend (6 of 7) that marked the end of their regular season. They will meet Troy University, who won a tie-breaker at Florida International, to become champions of the Sun Belt Conference.
