Dave Attell was born on January 18th, 1965 in Queens, New York. While he was attending college at New York University, Dave started doing open mic nights at comedy clubs in New York City. It took him almost ten years to solidify his act into something that would hit big, and the dedication to his craft has paid off. A now-famous stand up comedian, Dave has landed specials on HBO and Comedy Central, and has appeared on almost every late night talk show on TV.

Dave not only has put in a lot of time on air doing shows and television specials, but he has also paid his dues behind the scenes and in movies. For over two years he was on the writing team for the hit sketch show, Saturday Night Live and he has also made appearances in the 1999 movie Los Enchiladas, 2000's The Office Party, Pootie Tang in 2001 and most recently in Max and Grace in 2004. He has appeared on The Daily Show with fellow comedian Jon Stewart and on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, as well as having short roles in Ed, Everybody Loves Raymond, Crank Yankers, the Drew Carey Show and the animated comedy, Dr. Katz.
In September 2003, Dave Attell and Lewis Black teamed up for a national tour that would last throughout the year. The show, Comedy Central Live Starring Dave Attell and Lewis Black was presented by Clear Channel Entertainment and Comedy Central, and was brought to cities all over the United States.
It was in August of 2001 that Attell started his rise into the nationwide spotlight. Comedy Central offered Dave his own show called Insomniac. In the show, he travels across the country hanging out in some of the most popular party cities in the country, searching for people who are up all night playing or working. In one night, he might be riding with a street cleaner, helping workers build sets for soap operas, or dancing to a bunch of polka bands. Every night includes a trip to at least one bar, of course. Hopping from bar to bar, clubs to taverns, beer to hard liquor, Dave and the people he meets along his path continue to drink and let the viewing audience into their lives. Dave has been writing and hosting the show for more than four seasons and has produced two Insomniac DVDs and his first stand up comedy album called 'Skanks For The Memories'.
