The amazing group Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (aka CSN&Y) have recorded and played together since 1969 but have only released five albums. The reason for this is that each member of the band have been successful musicians apart from CSNY and have spent more time away from each other in the last 35 years than working together. Their live concert performances have always been memorable and due to their collaborative songwriting set-up each musician brings differing styles and emotions to the band's work.

David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash formed the group after they left their bands Buffalo Springfield, The Byrds and The Hollies. They released Crosby, Stills & Nash and had hits with 'Wooden Ships' and 'Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.' The band needed another member to fill out the line-up and Neil Young, already famous for his unique folk rock, was asked to join.
In the summer of '69 the newly formed CSN&Y performed at Woodstock (it was only their second concert together) and were featured in the concert film along with Janis Joplin, The Who and Jimi Hendrix. The band reached the top of the charts with the 1970 album Déjà Vu and had several successful singles including 'Our House,' 'Carry On,' and 'Woodstock.'
CSN&Y released a live album called Four Way Street in 1971, which featured the expert guitar playing of Stephen Stills and Neil Young, as well as some of the smoothest vocals in rock from David Crosby and Graham Nash. The group didn't go on tour together from 1974 to 1999, but reunited in 2000 to support the album Looking Forward.
