2017 Alice in Chains

Now's your chance to get tickets for a red-hot live performance by one of heavy metal's truly definitive groups: Alice in Chains. Anyone who knows which bands were important to the genre will always mention Van Halen, Pearl Jam, Poison, Iggy Pop -- but the list would not be complete without Alice in Chains.

This hard-rocking quartet rode the crest of the same wave that swept Nirvana to grunge super-stardom. Formed in the mid-1980's by vocalist Layne Staley, guitarist Jerry Cantrell, drummer Sean Kinney, and bass-player Mike Starr (later replaced by Mike Inez), Alice in Chains developed a unique post-punk sound that shocked some critics -- but blew audiences away!

Gloomy, bleak, and nihilistic, the group spoke to legions of fans who could relate to their lyric insights into a nightmare world of drugs, death, sickness, and sadness. Alice in Chains had an early hit with "We Die Young" and went multi-platinum with their dark and grinding 1992 album Dirt. They also wowed listeners with such alternative-rock smashes as "Man in the Box," and "Would?" thus solidifying their reputation as an important force on the contemporary music scene. But the group's history was not without tragedy: following a long and highly publicized battle with drug addiction, founding member Staley died of a cocaine/heroin overdose.

Although Alice in Chains suffered this loss, as well as some adverse criticism, negative rumors, and internal dissension, the band continued the long process of reinventing itself. After splitting up and regrouping in various incarnations, the three surviving members reunited for a memorable tsunami benefit in 2005, to glowing reviews and a wildly enthusiastic audience.

Now Alice in Chains is on stage once again for a series of rare live appearances. Any fan lucky enough to have heard this band in one of their signature powerful performances will jump at the chance to get tickets for a classic show! See one of the great metal bands of all time--see Alice in Chains!
