INXS hosted a very successful TV show in Summer 2005 to replace lead singer Michael Hutchence. 'Rock Star: INXS' was the CBS hit show. Vibrant rockers from across the country competed to front the band, with American viewers helping to eliminate a contestant each week. In the finale, J.D. Fortune was selected over Marty Casey as the new lead singer of INXS. Marty's band, Lovehammers, is opening for INXS on their North American tour dates.

INXS was one of the hottest bands of the '80s and had a trendy signature sound like many bands of the decade. Their music was emotional and adventurous. The lyrics spoke of experiences and feelings that young people related to. They elegantly replaced traditional guitar solos with saxophone interludes or instrumental crescendos. To see INXS perform their powerful melodies live is truly worth the cost of any ticket, and they are back in action touring again for their old fans and a generation of new ones.
INXS got their start playing pubs in Australia. The members of INXS were Michael Hutchence (vocals), Tim Farriss (lead guitar), Andrew Farriss (guitar and keyboards), Gary Beers (bass), John Farriss (drums), and Kirk Pengilly (saxophone and guitar). The band was unsurprisingly called The Farriss Brothers before their fame as INXS.
'The One Thing,' 'Don't Change' and 'Original Sin' were their first worldwide hits, but it wasn't until their album The Swing that INXS got a lot of attention in the United States. Tickets to INXS concerts began to sell out, and the 1985 release of Listen Like Thieves was considered one of the most sophisticated new wave hits of the decade.
