In 1998, Josh Groban was discovered by world-renowned producer/writer/arranger David Foster, and this began Josh's journey to his label home, the Foster/Warner Bros. joint venture -- 143 Records. Nothing has been the same since.

Groban worked for Foster as a rehearsal singer on a series of high-profile events, including the inauguration of Gray Davis as governor of California and the Grammy Awards (at which he rehearsed Foster's "The Prayer" with Celine Dion in place of Andrea Bocelli).

He was accepted into the theater department of Carnegie Mellon College. When Foster booked Groban for yet another music industry party, "that was the beginning of the conflict," says Josh. "I was thrilled to be singing for David, but also excited about attending classes at Carnegie Mellon."
