2015 KC And The Sunshine Band

KC and The Sunshine Band was a dominant force during the disco craze of the '70s with some of the most recognizable and best-selling songs in the world of pop. Hits like 'That's the Way (I Like It),' 'Get Down Tonight' and 'Boogie Shoes' have been and still are featured in countless movies and commercials. The group has been making dance music for over thirty years under the leadership of Harry Wayne Casey and has been nominated for Grammy Awards nine times, selling more than 100 million records.

Casey started KC and the Sunshine Band in 1973 functioning as producer, keyboard player and song-writer. The group's first album didn't make a big splash but in 1975 their second, self-titled album blew away all expectations. With two number one hits and going triple platinum, the album brought their fresh and unique funk-disco style to the attention of dance music fans the world over. The 1976 album, Part 3, put them into the stratosphere with 'Shake Your Booty' and 'I'm Your Boogie Man.'

In 1978 Casey won Grammy Awards for Producer of the Year and Album of the Year for the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. KC and the Sunshine Band had several more big hits, 'Do You Wanna Go Party' in 1979 and 'Please Don't Go' in 1980, before disco faded in the early '80s. In the '90s there was a resurgence of demand for disco music and Casey answered with his 1995 concert album Get Down Live. In 1999 The Best of KC and the Sunshine Band was certified gold, and in 2001 the album I'll Be There for You, with original new material, was released with proceeds from the title single donated to relief efforts in connection with 9/11.

If reliving the days of disco is your dream or if you just like to dance to the music of KC and the Sunshine Band, you'd better buy your concert tickets now and get ready to party like it's 1976.
