More Kenny Chesney Information

Kenny Chesney was born on March 26, 1968 in Knoxville Tennessee. Raised in Luttrell, home of Chet Atkins, country music never played a big part in his youth. It wasn't until he heard Merle Haggard's 'That's the Way Love Goes' in the car driving home from Tennessee State that Country became his love. Kenny started practicing hours daily and played shows all around campus until graduation. After he finished with school Chesney moved himself to Nashville with hopes of making it in the country music business. It wasn't long after associating himself with The New Traditionalists that he signed a writing contract with Acuff-Rose that led shortly after to a recording deal with Capricorn Records.

Kenny Chesney's debut album In My Wildest Dreams hit the stores in 1993 followed by All I Need to Know in 1995 and Me and You in 1996. In 1997, Kenny released I Will Stand, but it wasn't until 1999 with the release of Everywhere We Go that Chesney had his first smash hit. The album was boosted to double platinum status with the help of his single 'You Had Me From Hello'. At this point BMG decided it would be a good time to gather all of Chesney's favorites for a Greatest Hits CD, and rightfully so. By 2002, the Greatest Hits album was certified triple platinum and Kenny was indisputably one of the hottest faces in the country scene.
