Born and raised in Indiana, Mike Epps was 21 when a club owner suggested he move to New York to market his standup there. There he tried to break into the comedy club scene and ended up landing the Def Comedy Jam gig. He was on the tour and appeared in two of the Def Comedy Jam's broadcasts. Epps then began appearing in films. His first foray into film was Vin Diesel's Strays in 1996.
Mike was in an episode of the Sopranos in 1999 and the same year landed a role in Next Friday the sequel to Friday. In the movie he played Ice Cube's moronic cousin with a stalker girlfriend. Mike played the dummy very well and downplayed his good looks and articulate nature for the role. Ice Cube had seen his standup before choosing him for the job and was quite impressed.
When you see Mike Epps' standup you will be equally impressed. He has a knack for the absurd and his commentary on culture and young life is just hilarious. If you have seen him in Bait, How High, or All About the Benjamins you know how versatile this comic really is. Don't miss Mike Epps' live show at a venue near you -- get your tickets right here.
