The Stone Temple Pilots (or simply STP to fans), featuring Scott Weiland, brothers Dean and Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz, were arguably one of the biggest and most influential bands in alternative rock throughout the 1990s. They broke into the music scene with a vengeance with their debut album, 1992’s Core, which spawned such hits as “Sex Type Thing”, “Plush” and “Creep” and continued to build a loyal following with the platinum-selling Purple, Tiny Music…Songs for the Vatican Gift Shop, and No. 4 and the gold-selling Shangri-La Dee Da. Unfortunately, STP broke up at the end of 2002, and fans thought they’d never see the guys together again, as Weiland joined the supergroup Velvet Revolver and the DeLeo brothers formed Army of Anyone.
