Two of the original members of The Cars, Elliot Easton and Greg Hawkes , have reunited for a tour that will bring their music to a whole new generation of fans. Hawkes and Easton invited Todd Rundgren to do vocals, Kasim Sulton on bass and Prairie Prince to play drums for the project. The chance to see these performers together is a true treat for old and new fans.
The Cars' most memorable album and song was 'Just What I Needed' of 1978 and it was only matched in popularity by 1984's Heartbeat City. MTV was an important purveyor of The Cars' music videos; one of which, 'You Might Think,' won video of the year in 1984. Songs like 'Magic,' 'Hello Again' and 'Drive' were the top-twenty singles that made The Cars concert tickets sell out and their music hit the top of the charts.
The Cars' reunion spearheaded by Greg Hawkes also features the new wave band Blondie. No one who remembers the 1980s can forget Deborah Harry's unique voice and the influence that Blondie had on popular music of the time. Seeing both of these bands play live is a rare treat that you don't want to miss.
