The Cheetah Girls are Adrienne Bailon and Kiely Williams (formerly of the singing group 3LW), Sabrina Bryan and Raven-Symone (That’s So Raven, The Cosby Show). The four were assembled to star in the Disney film adaptation of The Cheetah Girls books by Deborah Gregory. The film plot involves the girls forming a band and heading to New York to find fame and fortune in the music business. The mix of teen melodrama and contemporary pop songs proved highly popular with young audiences, and the film was voted the #1 movie of them all by Disney Channel viewers two years after its release. The success of the movie and the popularity of songs such as “Cheetah Sisters” and “Girl Power” prompted the release of the album Cheetah-licious Christmas in late 2005.
