The Killers History

The Killers songs speak of love, jealousy, relationships, and of course, murder. Their music is an exuberant storytelling adventure. The Killers represent an amalgamation of the new wave sound of yesterday and the alternative rock of today. Most importantly they have an amazing live show that no one should miss.

When lead man Brandon Flowers (vocals/keyboards) auditioned for the band in 2002, he and David Keuning (guitars) wrote a song in mere minutes, 'Mr. Brightside,' which they still play at every Killers show. Ronnie Vannucci (drums) and Mark Stoermer (bass) were both from Las Vegas like the others and from the start they knew that they were on the way to creating the perfect band. The members immediately meshed with no problems at all.

After the release of their prolific debut album Hot Fuss, the Killers began touring for the first time outside of Las Vegas in the UK in 2004. Here they amassed a huge following of veteran fans of the bands they were influenced by, like Oasis, and a host of converts to the post-punk revolution. They were picked up by UK label Lizard King to do a limited edition single for 'Mr. Brightside' and tickets to their shows sold out all over London.

The Killers influences were bands like Duran Duran, The Cure and The Smiths. However, their witty lyrics and gritty stories stand alone as completely fresh and original. They have endured natural disasters like brush fires in California just to get their first album cut. There was even an earthquake that shook up the recording of 'Believe Me, Natalie.' The Killers have overcome these obstacles to become the most popular new band in America. You really must experience their stellar stage performances. Get your Killers tickets now. Don't worry, these Killers won't hurt you!
