U2 History

Irish rock band U2 set a record for the most lucrative tour in the history of the planet. Tour "360" has raised over 737 million dollars. So they brought the current record holders and Rolling Stones. This achievement will send them in history and is unlikely to be improved. U2 are known as one of the groups with the most expensive tickets in the world, with an average price of $ 100. The performances of the gang are visited by an average of 63,000 people.

U2 front man suffered an accident during rehearsals for their world tour the band. 50-year-old singer was operated on urgently on May 21 at a clinic in Munich, having injured his spine. He is expected to stay there for a few days. For now the band has canceled the only one of its planned participation - this June 3 in Salt Lake City, USA. U2 have arranged summer concerts across North America and in August is scheduled to play in Europe. And U2's first two new tracks since No Line on the Horizon, though never officially touted as singles, have both gotten off to relatively quiet starts. "Ordinary Love," the Oscar-nominated song composed for Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, has sold 115,000 copies, peaking at No. 99 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 45 on the Digital Songs chart for the week ending March 2.

Invisible, initially launched through the Super Bowl, was downloaded for free 3 million times globally as part of a 24-hour campaign with iTunes, (RED) and Bank of America, thus making those downloads ineligible for Billboard's charts. Although it is available for free, it will bring revenue to the cause of charity vocalist Bono RED, which he co-founded in 2006 with money, will support the fight against AIDS, reported newspaper "Rolling Stone." For each song downloaded Bank of America has pledged to donate a dollar to the cause, but placed a maximum of $ 2 million. The money will be donated to support the efforts of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, which also provides research and prevention for people in the poorest countries in the world. The song has since started picking up steam at radio, peaking at No. 28 on the Alternative airplay chart and No. 15 on Rock Songs, with sales of 64,000 copies to date. Teaming with current hit makers like Tedder and Epworth, both key players in Adele's best-selling 21, would appear to be U2's play to take a step back from the "edge of relevance," as Bono said.
