Wilco is made up of Jeff Tweedy (singer/songwriter), Ken Coomer (drums), John Stirratt (bass), Max Johnston (mandolin, banjo, fiddle, and lap steel), and Jay Bennett (guitars). (Tweedy, Coomer, Stirratt and Johnston had previously played together in the groundbreaking Uncle Tupelo, before parting ways in 1994 with Jay Farrar and Michael Heidorn, who moved in a different creative direction with the formation of Son Volt.)
