Newer and newer bands come and go every day but if there is one band that is here to stay, it is "Woe, Is Me". It is an American metal-core band from Atlanta, Georgia which was formed in the year 2009 signed by the label "Rise, Velocity". Their first album was released on August 31, 2010 and they have never looked back ever since then. Their debut album was charted at number 16 on the "Top Heatseekers" chart of "billboard". They have released two albums since the 2010 and a certain number of mixtapes and underground songs. It is mainly because of the quality of their mixtape music that they gained high popularity in US. Their second album "Genesi[s]" charted at the number 2 position on the "Top Heatseekers" chart.
"Woe, Is Me" was basically started by drummer named "Austin Thornton" along with the local Atlantic band (Cheyne Stokes) consisting of members - Kevin Hanson, Cory Ferris and Ben Ferris. The line up of the band has been quite unstable ever since its start in the year of 2009. And it is because of these lineup changes and conflicts, the only member that retained its place in the brand is the guitarist Kevin Hanson.
Once the band was formed they recorded a demo of three songs produced by Cameron Mizell namely "Hell, or High Water", "I" and "If Not, for Ourselves". These songs were released on their Myspace profile. Later they released a cover song by Kesha's song "Tik-tok". They come into notice with song and were signed by Rise Records and provided their own label even before their first single. With their new album set to release in 2013 summer, they have already indicated that there will be a certain change of style in this new album. It was indicated that there will be more stress on balancing the singing/screaming ratio as compared to before which was mostly screaming based only. The chorus can also be expected more on the pop side. Make sure to check out their new album as soon as it comes out.
