Even as we say “Congratulations” to the Philadelphia Phillies, who beat the Rockies 3 games to 1 to advance to the National League Championship Series in the 2009 MLB Playoffs, we want to say a big “Thank you” to the Colorado Rockies, who placed 2nd in the tough NL West Division, for the exciting season they had!

Coming off their first ever World Series appearance hopes were high for the Colorado Rockies in the 2008 season, but they churned out a lackluster performance that landed them squarely in the middle of the NL West. The team is determined to improve in the 2009 season, and to that end the Rockies showed the door to third base coach Mike Gallego, hitting coach Alan Cockrell, and bench coach Jamie Quirk, and traded Matt Holliday to the Oakland Athletics for Greg Smith, Huston Street and Carlos Gonzalez.
