Atomic History

The show Atomic brings the tale of the Atomic bomb to audiences in an entirely new way. The production brings together the story of the creation of the Atomic bomb and ends when the bomb at Hiroshima goes off. The story focuses on the story of the American immigrant Jewish scientist who was responsible for the development of the bomb, Leo Szilard. The character’s motivations unfold as audiences see the motivation behind Szilard’s work, as he is convinced his teacher, Albert Einstein to send a letter to FDR about the real danger that the Nais would develop and atomic weapon. The story shows how this led to the creation of the Manhattan Project.The story also talks about Szilard’s cancer diagnosis and the radiation treatment he used to eliminate that cancer. The show is currently playing off-Broadway and has not only received rave reviews for its unique look at the development of the Atomic Bomb, but also for its original score. The story not only tells the tale of the Manhattan Project, but about ethics, life struggles and true love as the story of Leo and his work with the project unfolds. The show has been highly acclaimed for the powerful performances of the ensemble cast as several Broadway stars including Jeremy Kushnier, brings this true yet unforgettable story to the stage.The story brings together the work of Danny Ginges and Gregory Bonsignore who created the books and lyrics as well as Phillip Foxman who created the music and lyrics.
