As of 2006, Anheuser-Busch marked its silver anniversary as sponsor for the NASCAR Busch Series. The 35-race series is launched on a triple-bill weekend, starting off with a Craftsman Truck Series race and building toward a race in the Nextel Cup Series. And the whole NASCAR season begins here and now at Daytona International.
Daytona International Speedway, on the Florida coast at Daytona Beach, has an advantage over most tracks in being available year round for racing events. The track itself is a tri-oval that sits on a complex covering 480 acres. The infield boasts the 44-acre Lake Lloyd. With the long season and the versatility of the setting, Daytona International Speedway has room in its schedule for motorcycle racing, as well as Historic Sportscar Racing and other events.
Formerly titled the Hershey's Take 5 300, this race, falling the weekend after Valentine's Day, was renamed in 2006 as the Hershey's Kissable 300. Come to think of it, wouldn't your Valentine love tickets to a NASCAR race?
