Still known to many by its traditional title, the Peach Bowl was first recognized officially as part of the NCAA post-season in 1968. From 1998 to 2005, it carried the transitional name Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, and now it’s officially named solely for its sponsor, Chick-fil-A. As the event has grown, so have its scholarship and charitable contributions, now totaling in the millions of dollars.

It is held at the Georgia Dome, which is the home of the National Football League's Atlanta Falcons. As high as a 27-story building with a roof made of fiberglass panels coated in Teflon, the Georgia Dome holds over 71,500 sports fans, and attendance at the Chick-fil-A Bowl has maxed out in recent years. Getting Chick-fil-A Bowl tickets is a goal of football fans from all over the Southeast and beyond, who perennially make it the most highly attended bowl game outside the Bowl Championship Series.
