The Colorado Rapids refers to an American professional soccer club and is established in Denver suburb of Commerce City of Colorado. It is very well known to compete in the Major League Soccer and was one of the ten founding clubs of MLS. The Colorado Rapids had won the MLS i.e. the Major League Soccer cup in the year 2010 for the first time. The club was formerly operated by the Anschutz Corporation and is now operated by the AEG. Some of the well experienced players of the team include Shaun Bartlett, Chris Woods, Chris Henderson, Marcelo Balboa and Roy Wegerle. Marcelo Balboa proved himself to be the first player to hit a goal at Mile High Stadium in the year 1996.Since their early years, the Colorado Rapids are found to greatly evolve in the field of soccer. The team has a history of regularly changing their team color and logo. They have had three different logos till date. Most of their home games are said to be played at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park at Colorado, also known as the soccer specific stadium. And presently as of the year 2013, the Colorado Rapids prove to be the only team which has never had a hired or paid t-shirt sponsor.The 2000 season proved to be a bright and opportunistic season for the rapids. Apart from the Balbao's famous bicycle kick, which brought him the goal of the year award, there was the memorable game against the Los Angeles Galaxy and in which the very popular Paul Bravo succeeding in scoring a goal in the 97th minute of the game. The ongoing years till 2008 were more or less similar but not outstanding to say. But in the year 2008, the rapids had a great comeback when they defeated the LA Galaxy 4-0 on the opening day of the season.
