The Old Globe Theater has gotten great minds and great talent together. The result for our viewing and listening pleasure is based on the 1988 film made famous by Michael Caine and comedic great Steve Martin. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels has returned, this time Broadway-style.
Set in the French Riviera, the two con men have decided that the town cannot possibly support both of their monetary requirements, needless to say their egos. A contest is concocted to see who can extort 50,000 from a lovely young woman, thus determining who can stay, and who must vacate. An unexpected twist in the story leaves the con men in a surprising predicament and dutifully, comic mayhem ensues.
With its added music by David Yazbek and choreographer Jerry Mitchell (The Full Monty, Hairspray) the production gives a little spice to a story line that was originally based on Jeffrey Lane's book. Treat yourself to tickets for the touring company bringing the delicious Dirty Rotten Scoundrels into your town!
