Disney on Ice is a touring ice show, founded in 1981. These shows feature figure skaters, dressed as Disney cartoon characters. In these performances, the music and plot is taken from a variety Disney films and stories. The shows, targeted mostly at children, will bring together stories from films across generations before typically coming together for the grand finale of the show.These shows have taken place all around the world. Typically, a show will start in North America before heading to Europe and Asia. Throughout its history, Disney on Ice has traveled to more than 60 countries, performing more than 1,200 performances each year in North America alone, with more than five million attendees.Treasure Trove pulls together a number of stories from a large variety of movies. This list includes Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Mulan, The Incredibles, The Princess and the Frog, and Tangled.The show begins with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy who set the stage. The show begins in earnest with characters from The Incredibles before characters from Alice in Wonderland come skating out and dance and skate around to a number of songs from the film. Characters from Peter Pan come next as Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Wendy, and the rest of the major characters come out onto the ice.After a brief intermission, characters from The Lion King come next, before Aladdin comes out with the rest of his counterparts. The show continues with The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, and finally Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The show closes with all of the princess coming out on to the ice and doing a final number. The show ends with Mickey Minnie, Donald, and Goofy doing their goodbyes.The show finds itself in the New York-area for the month of January, hitting the Nassau Coliseum the Prudential Center, and the Barclays Center, hosting its first Disney on Ice performances before moving through New England and eventually north of the border to Winnipeg and Hamilton. The show is currently scheduled to run through May 12 in Ontario at the Citizens Business Bank Arena.
